Step 6: Contacting Coaches Made Easy

Step-by-Step Guide: Contacting Coaches in College Pipe

This guide outlines the key steps for contacting college coaches using the College Pipe platform.

  1. Integrate Your Email (Recommended): For personalized sending, integrate your email address. Go to Settings (usually in the top corner), look for email integration options (you might need to show more options), and connect your Google or Microsoft account. Emails will then be sent from your address.

  2. Choose Your Starting Point: Decide how you want to initiate contact. You can:

    • Use the general "Find a University" section (often best for contacting multiple coaches for multiple athletes).

    • Use the athlete's specific "Find University" section (for contacting coaches for that athlete after filtering).

    • Go to the athlete's University List (efficient for contacting coaches at schools already on their list, especially those marked "to be contacted").

  3. Select Universities or List: In the "Find a University" sections, make your selection of universities. If using the athlete's University List, you can use a specific button to target coaches at universities with a certain status (like "to be contacted").

  4. Relate the Athlete(s): If prompted, relate the athlete(s) that the message is concerning. College Pipe may suggest athletes, particularly if you started from the general "Find a University" section and are contacting for multiple athletes. This step is important as it updates the university status on the athlete's list.

  5. Select Coach Roles: Choose which coaches at the universities you want to contact (e.g., Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Recruiting Coordinator).

  6. Select or Create Message: Choose from your saved message templates or compose a new message for the outreach.

  7. Send the Message: Click the "Send" button. Emails are sent out gradually by the system.

  8. Track Status: Refresh the page to see the status of the universities on the athlete's list change to "contacted" as the emails are successfully sent.

Utilizing these steps allows for efficient and organized communication with college coaches through College Pipe.
