Once you've initiated contact with coaches at universities on an athlete's target list, the next step is to manage the responses you receive.
Updating University Statuses: When a coach replies, indicating interest, requesting more information, or even making an offer, you should update the status or tag associated with that university on the athlete's dedicated University List within College Pipe. Changing a university's status (e.g., from "To Be Contacted" or "Contacted" to "Shortlist," "Evaluated," "Offer," "Not a Fit," etc.) provides a clear visual representation of the athlete's progress with each institution and helps you easily track which coaches are showing interest.
Information Available to the Athlete: The athlete's University List is more than just a list of names. For each university, athletes have access to a wealth of information to help them evaluate opportunities and make informed decisions. This typically includes:
Direct links to the university's official website and the athletics department page.
Details about the athletic staff.
Information on admissions criteria and processes.
Details on financials, including tuition costs (as discussed in the Find a University section).
Information about academic programs and majors.
Importantly, a short video of the campus, providing the athlete with a visual sense of the environment they might expect if they commit.
Athlete Prioritization: Athletes can often prioritize universities on their list, indicating their level of interest, which can further refine their focus.
By keeping the university list updated, you ensure the athlete is informed about which universities are interested and provide them with all the necessary information in one place to research and consider their options thoroughly.
