Before managing an athlete's specific recruiting status (like Searching or Committed), it is important to understand how their overall account state affects your billing and their access. In College Pipe, athlete accounts are categorized as either Active or Deactivated.
Billing Impact: Active athletes count toward the total active athlete limit included in your service package.
Recruiting Statuses Included: An athlete is considered active regardless of whether their specific recruiting status is set to Searching, Committed, Signed, or In College.
If you no longer want an athlete to count towards your active number of athletes, or if they have temporarily paused their recruiting process, you can specifically Deactivate their account.
Account Restrictions: A deactivated athlete cannot log in to the platform, their public profile becomes inactive, and they are no longer visible to college coaches.
Freed Up Limits: Deactivating an athlete immediately removes them from your active athlete count, freeing up space in your service package.
Deactivating an account does not mean deleting the athlete's history. All information tied to a deactivated athlete is safely preserved in your system:
Search & Reactivation: You can still search for deactivated athletes in your database and reactivate their accounts at any time with just a few clicks.
Historical Records Maintained: All historical data remains fully intact. This includes records of offers they received, emails that have been sent, which coaches they communicated with, and where they ultimately committed.
Reporting & Insights: Because their data is preserved, deactivated athletes continue to contribute to your company's overarching metrics. Their history feeds into your overall Athlete Status reports. Additionally, their past interactions and commitments will continue to populate the "Recent Activity" insights whenever you view a University. This ensures your organization retains all valuable relationship intelligence and success tracking for future use.
