To make the most of College Pipe, it is important to understand the configuration settings available for athletes in the platform. These settings allow you to customize the experience for your athletes, giving them access to the right features and ensuring the recruiting process runs smoothly.

Important: Test Your Configuration Using "View As Athlete"
Simply use the "View As Athlete" feature from the "Three-Dot" Power Menu to quickly see exactly what your athlete sees when they log in based on your current configurations.
The "Athlete Access" settings define which navigational tabs and sections your athletes can see and use when they log into their dashboard:
Profile: Athletes can view and modify their profile information.
Recruiting Process: Grants access to their assigned tasks and recruiting checklist.
Mail: Allows the athlete to access their inbox and sent emails.
University Database: Athletes have access to the full database of universities offering their sport and can use filters to conduct research.
Recruiting Board: Athletes can view their saved shortlist and pipeline of universities.
Recruiting Insights: Athletes can see which coaches have viewed or favored their profile and when this activity occurred.
The "Athlete Permissions" settings dictate the specific actions athletes are allowed to take on the platform:
Contact Coaches: When enabled, athletes can reach out to college coaches directly from the platform.
Connect Email Address: When turned on, athletes can integrate their personal email accounts to contact coaches, improving email deliverability and response rates.
Add to Recruiting Board: Allows the athlete to search the database and independently add schools to their board.
Manage Recruiting Board: Grants the athlete permission to move schools between different statuses or remove them from their board entirely.
These settings control the visibility of specific data points and tasks within the athlete's view:
Personal Fit: Athletes can see their star-rating compatibility score with every university, if enabled.
Display Tasks (All / Assigned Only): If set to "All", athletes will see every task available, which can be used as an educational resource for DIY platforms. When set to "Assigned Only", athletes will strictly see the tasks that have been specifically assigned to them by their staff.
Show Annual Max Budget: When enabled, the athlete's annual budget is displayed publicly on their profile. If turned off, it will simply state "Not Public". Coaches can still search for athletes using the budget filter, but they will not see the exact budget amount.
This section determines whether the contact details of the following people are publicly displayed on the athlete's profile:
Athlete
Recruiting Expert
Parent
Coaches
If turned off, none of these specific details will be visible to college coaches or anyone else viewing the public profile. Ensuring these settings are correct and aligned with your organizational process will create a more effective and personalized recruiting experience for your athletes.
